  • Community Opportunities
    • Shepherd’s Table – serving meals, 1st Tuesday of every month
    • Community Based Shelter – preparing and serving meals to shelter residents who are working their way out of homelessness, 1st week of March
    • Silver Spring Help – During Thanksgiving, Christmas and Lent contributing canned and non-perishable goods
    • Rebuilding Together (formerly Christmas in April) – Marvin is a sponsor of this one-day event. The program generates volunteerism and service in rejuvenating homes for the elderly and low-income owners, last Saturday in April
    • Member congregation of Ministry United Silver Spring/Takoma (MUSST) – a faith-based interdenominational, private, and non-profit organization. Its main mission is to furnish financial assistance to eligible persons living in the lower Silver Spring/Takoma Park area.
    • Camp Joy – a program founded for the purpose of reaching out to the elderly, poor and/or disabled residents of Hancock, Maryland and Berkley Springs, West Virginia. Participants help homeowners with little or no means of accomplishing necessary repairs to their homes.
    • Angel Tree Ministry – gives the congregation an opportunity to purchase and deliver gifts to designated children in need.

Community-sponsored activities held at Marvin:

  • Student Life Center - an alternate study program for Blair High School students who are under suspension. The Student Life Center is looking for volunteers to provide mentoring and tutoring services to students in need of guidance and support.
